Well I don’t know if this really counts as a kill?



The past week, I’ve been on vacation in Northern Ontario and Quebec with my TII. My buddy who has a MX-3 V6 with a high flow exhaust and Cone filter (See previous article) was also in our “convoy.” Both cars were loaded with a passenger and a lot of camping supplies. The ride was okay till we got near Sudbury and the roads got wild. We keep detouring on these small back roads with no one on them and every half hour or so we would see a warning for windy roads for the next 8-15 km. Over the course of our trip we probably hit about 7 stages like this. Normally these roads are used for logging, but they are paved and in some what good shape. Never had any of the four of us, seen anything like this before and we go up North every summer. These roads went up hills, down hills, had blind corners, S curves and every a couple 140 degree loop arounds. The roads were so tight that I rarely got into 5th and at times had to drop it into 2nd. The max I ever got was up to 150 km/h and no I wasn’t being gentle.



As for the “race”….



It should be noted that my buddy in the MX-3 is insane behind the wheel. Once our rally team gets off the ground he will most likely become the driver due to his cornering abilities on paved roads, gravel or snow. Numerous time we have thought that we has trying to seriously kill himself with the stuff he’s pulled, but its just skill. It was so bad in Northern Ontario that his co-driver insisted that I drive lead by the second stage, because he would charge blind corners and almost flew into a ditch (Co-driver was being a whinny bitch).



Anyways, the luggage in the back of my car helped a lot. My ass never came out once; although it got really lose on a couple corners. I tried the same in the city after unloading my car and my ass end was sloppy. For the first stage I lead, he was constantly on my ass, except when power out of a corner, or on a relatively straight section. He would out brake me and then fling his car through the corner. But by the last stage (2 days later) I was able to keep him behind me a fair amount.



Note: I’ve had my TII for 3 months and before I drove a 1988 automatic topaz before.



Not really a kill but damn that was fun. Does anyone know where I can buy I rear strut tower brace (Yes, I’ll sacrifice the speakers).
