Normally, I wouldn't post a kill about a base model eclipse but this one is special.



I'm driving home from Norman on I-35 last night around 9ish, when I see this potential kill on the horizon. So I haul ass to catch up.



As I get closer I start to exam the car. Neon green eclipse, big stupid ass wing, blue and white image resembling a bird of prey on the side, carbon fiber hood with white logo, NOS, eurolite and toyo tires logos all over.



Yep, sure enough its the car from the movie "The trendy and the trendiest" down to the last detail. Either that or someone took the time and money to build an EXACT replica.



After the initial shock, I'm thinking "WOW, this would make a great ricer (kill) story!"



I followed him off the highway to Rt. 66 (of all places!) and finally got him to race me at the light, along with a fox body GT that was on the other side of him. Needless to say he was well on the way to being a blip in my rearview after a few gears.

At the next light the guy in the mustang and I are just laughing our asses off. It was pretty cool.



So an rx-7 turbo killed him, just like in the movie! LMAO!! I guess the movie is more real than I thought! I even called some of my friends to tell'em what happened but I'm not sure if they believe me. I just wish I had a camera with me.



Well I just had to share that TRUE story with you all. At least the guy in the mustang will believe me.

Yeah, I heard the real one was a base model. I was trying to peer through his rear rims on the highway to tell what kind of brakes they were, i.e. drum=base model disc= gs or gst. It was tough to see, but I believe they were drums as I couldn't make out a caliper anywhere on the hub.

How odd...I raced the same car yesterday, only it was a turbo with no wing...I wonder if Mitsu is turning them out with neon green paint and carbon fiber hoods now...lol. Actually, I didn't race it...I was just in the car that taught it a lesson.
