I was out patroling the local streets last night looking for something to play around with, when I notice this new silver Mercedes SL500 roll past me. I quickly turned around to follow the guy and soon caught up to him. After following him a few blocks, I noticed another set of HIDs closing on me real fast. WTF? Another SL500 had pulled up right behind me. That's odd to see 2 $140k cars around here I thought, they must know each other.



So I follow the first one over to some residential area, where he turns off into some rich neighborhood. I kept driving, and the other SL500 behind me blows past me(pretty quickly I might add) on the left side of the road. Hmm.. I'n not gonna stand for that. I quickly caught back up and ended up following him out to a 4 lane which is where the fun began https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png



As it was pretty late at night there wasn't really any traffic at all. I pulled up next to the SL500 doing about 45MPH and we went at it. We stayed pretty much even up to 100MPH mainly because we were in a slight corner and I didn't want to lose it and backed off. I followed him further down the highway where he proceeded to turn around.



This time we went at it on a straight away from a roll of 40MPH. I started in 2nd gear and I eventually left up on the throttle around 120MPH. By this time, I had a solid 8-10 cars on the SL.



I exited the highway and pulled off. The Benz followed me, and to my surprise it was a buddy of mine! LOL! I had no idea it was him since he was in a loaner car while his Benz was in the shop.



He was saying that the 2003 SL500 comes with 350hp stock but I was really surprised how fast that car was. I jumped at the chance to drive it, figuring it's the only time I will ever get to drive a $140k car in my life.



Overall it was a good, fun race. I never expected that Benz to be as quick as it was.

wanna know the difference between sl500 and sl55 amg...... i did the same thing as you with very similar mods and after 3rd gear it started creaping further from me... i was running 14lbs

SL55 AMG thingy is 480hp V8 super-charged. That-car-is-fast.



Beat my brother in his old SR'd S14, but we had no LSD. That thing doesn't even bark from the line, it just gooooooes. Scary how luxury cars are so quiet, even if they're Godly fast too. It's craaaazy!
