I've had a few bouts with the new Maserati. Here's a link if you want to check out their new product. The cars are beautiful. Ferrari now owns Maserati so they went ahead and put a variation of the 8 cylinder Ferrari 360 Modena engine in there. 390HP

Maserati Spyder

I've found that the stock FD is slightly faster from any speed, most likely this is due to the extra 1000 lbs the Maserati is having to move. Since adding a down pipe and cat back to my FD it makes for quite the embarrassing situation for the Maserati. I'd hate to see what an FD with a full mod package would do to one of the Maseratis.

I had one of those things come through valet the other night and it was beautiful. I'll try to post some pics I got with my digicam.

The RP01 wheels

front 18 x 8.5, 48 mm offset

rear 18 x 9.5, 48 mm offset

Tires

front Bridgestone S0-2, 235/40ZR18

rear Bridgestone S0-2, 265/35ZR18

S0-2 tire specs

So far no rubbing, but I think the tire size on the front is pushing it because of the additional height over the stock Bridgestone S0-1 225/50R16. Interestingly however the stock tire has over an inch more tread width that the 235 S0-2.

S0-1 tire specs

My next set of front tires will be a smaller size. I'd like to add more tread to the rear for more traction, but that will take some work other than just adding larger tires.

People are always easily impressed by large horsepower numbers, but they completely miss the importance of a good power-to-weight ratio.

That what makes the rotary so impressive. It's the best of both worlds.

Big power out of a small lightweight package.
