Forgot about this one.

I was driving along, and this `00 Audi S3 Turbo stops next to me at the intersection. His girl looking, and him pointing at my Rx7.I ignore it and look in front of me.So he says something(their windows rolled down)I cant make out, my 1500rpm brap-brap-brap too loud.So i give him the nod .I go up to 4000, and wait, other part of the intersection turns yellow..up to 7500.He goes up to about 2000, hear turbo starting to spool.. Green, and i pop the clutch, spinning the 205s.He pulls 1/4 on me, and goes to second, i go full bore first(aprox 10 000)snap to second.Again up to 10000(indicated 82 mph), pull 2 cars on him, into third up to 8000 and then i was 5 cars in front.

Next intersection, he stops next to me, doesnt look at me.I shout at him(above exhaust noise...)if he was giving it all, in a VERY sarcastic voice..hehehe

very cool! u were taking it to 10K? holy crap and u still make power up there? I hope u have atleast a scatter shield... Do u have the engine balanced too?

90_GTU_jeremy 11-12-2002 04:42 PM

rxpower 11-12-2002 05:01 PM

rxpower 11-12-2002 05:28 PM

(in a loud anouncer voice)

"Racing, When you beat him cum on his g/f face, Its the "icing" on the cake"

lol

just off the top of my head. Mabe later I'll have a better one.

90_GTU_jeremy 11-12-2002 09:53 PM

hehe... yeah thats better than what i could think of.. ill work on it later lol

S212A 11-13-2002 03:41 AM

Thanks!

I do have a scatter shield, and a lightened flywheel, and so on.Stock rotors.

It starts making power at 5k, and then really starts to make power at 7.5k.I once missed a gear, and i grin at the thought of how high it actually went..

To give you an idea of my port sizes..the top of the intake port goes right up to the cornel seal line. The exhaust ports were allready big when i got it, but it was opened up to 2" on the outside, and doesnt have collets in or nothing.

:squint:

pengaru 11-13-2002 06:07 AM

damn. are those stock stationary gears? non-hardened? any machining on the rotors? stock apex seals and springs?

vosko 11-13-2002 09:56 AM

judge ito knows what needs to be done for a rotary to rev to 10k + i have no idea https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

ryan 11-13-2002 11:29 AM

Didn't know there was such a thing as an S3. It is a non-US model? You learn something new every day...

DJ Rotor 11-13-2002 12:13 PM

It's the S model of the A3, basically a TT in hatchback disguise. Very cool.

treceb 11-13-2002 01:11 PM

according to henry over at mazdatrix i've gathered you need:

clearanced rotors

ceramic apex seals (the uprated springs are what you really need, these just don't destroy the housings with those springs, without the uprated springs the seals start floating >= 8500)

hardened stationary gears

large ports to put the power band up there

intake/fuel/exhaust to go with it

increased oil pressure, and higher tolerances on the rotor bearings are preferred apparently.

thats all i can remember atm

90_GTU_jeremy 11-13-2002 08:29 PM

damn 10k would be so fun.. only thing is you can hit 80 in second gear.... third gear redline is like way illegal lol. i always wanted a s4... all wheel drive would be so much fun... especially i the rain... you could burn almost anyone from a stop

S212A 11-14-2002 04:18 AM

I have lots of stuff done on the motor, and spend lots, and lots of time with the planing of it.Its a proto type basiclly, to see just how far it could be pushed.I normally dont go past 9000, got way over excited. The seals are steel, was clearanced to very close specs.I`am not saying alot about the buildup, its a secret.

I thought to myself, if i break it, then it was a failure. If it makes this, then we have succeeded. And we did, Mazda came out tops, again!!

We decided to go against the norm of Bridge and Peripheral, and do a street that will be remembered. If all goes well with the injection in the end, i will be making aprox 150rwhp(which is ok according to me for a street, and it lasts ok..)

Thumbs up for Mazda!

all wheel drive is only in rain or slippery ground funny. i'd always prefer the rear wheel drive and make the awd guys furious about my drifting.

It's a 1.8L Turbo with 210HP. 6.7sec from 0-60

90_GTU_jeremy 11-14-2002 08:47 PM

funny.. the gti 180 hp 1.8t runs 0-60 in 6.8... guess that extra 30 hp isnt much in the audi

DJ Rotor 11-15-2002 08:22 AM

The Audi is a fair bit heavier because of the all wheel drive.

DJ Rotor 11-15-2002 08:22 AM

BTW did you ever get a GTI?

90_GTU_jeremy 11-17-2002 10:03 PM

nah not yet... im still getting the money together

1Revvin7 11-17-2002 10:06 PM

Turbo II 11-18-2002 01:11 AM

norotor_nomotor 11-21-2002 02:03 PM
