My FC and a Type R on the highway @65mph. My car has a Racing Beat carb conversion with full exhaust and street ported. Maybe he missed a shift or something, don't know or care really. He lost, tally marks for the rotary!

Maybe it's not a big deal? I dunno, just caught me a little off guard..

Don't underestimate those Type Rs they are fast.

They drive better than most FCs out there too.

i for one do not underestimate the DC2 type-r.

my sister used to own a 2000 model. very nice handling car, easy to drive and very predictable. peppy as hell too.

i too have had my battles with a type-r on the highway. i guess it's decent, but it can't hold it's own against a rotary turbo.

You've never heard of a rotary revvin' out to 11K and up? Much to learn young grasshopper. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

RussellTT94 08-16-2005 06:55 PM

but your rotary does not rev to 11k.

You've never heard of a honda revvin' out to 18.5K and up? Much to learn young grasshopper.

rowtareh 08-16-2005 11:33 PM

There is NO rotary that revs to 11k....in stock form that is. And to acheive that 11k, you need some deep pockets.

SilverSeven 08-17-2005 03:18 AM

I have R/C car motors that rev to 60,000.

So there, that's about all the energy I have today to devote to internet chest-puffing.

i think a turbine or " jet engine" would take the cake on this one....just think if you walk in front of the duct while it is turning up it will suck you up in it.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif ...thats bad ass https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

rxfree 10-23-2005 06:29 AM

im not sure but arent turbos spinning at over 100000 rpm? i know jets are cool but turbo still on car. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683771.gif

People need to let these old old kill threads die.

rowtareh 10-24-2005 11:53 PM

No, sinful needs to get off his bitch ass and close the ******' thing!

PhoenixDownVII 10-25-2005 08:53 AM

*Shrug* My closest friend has a Type R and our cars were together all of the time. Both of our cars were practically stock.

The FD does, what like 13.7 at best in the quarter? And the Type R does 14.3+ at best? It's not that far apart.

I've had plenty of seat time in that Type R (he's really cool and lets me drive it a lot) and after driving 2 NA FC's I doubt they could really "Kill" the Type R unless one of the two cars has a major advantage/disadvantage.

They rev pretty darn high, his tach go's to 9k just like my FD :P, just doesn't have that solid turbo pull throughout...

rx7man629 10-31-2005 08:52 AM

Whats the point of revving to 11k if you make no power? Unless you just like having chunks of molten flywheel cut your legs clean off. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

inanimate_object 10-31-2005 05:53 PM

Power is torque by revs, so as long as the engine can physically handle it and if you can let it breathe ok, the more revs the better. And flywheels don't melt.

Mark

rx7man629 11-01-2005 08:37 AM

Yea its called a joke! And they do explode around 11k, a guy i know that drag races had his explode at 11500 rpm, stock fd flywheel
