I (in my '89 GTUs w/ 150k miles, mods in sig) raced my friend in his s4 base (with removed AC and spare) with jspec engine and tranny. He has 2.5 inch pipe (no cats) from turbo to y-pipe, then the HKS 60 mm cat-back. His car boosts about 9 psi max or so.
Anyway, I raced him, and by 90 mph or so, he only had 3 or so carlenths. Why didn't he completely kill me? I really would have expected him to win by more than that. So either his car isn't running right (he has 95 psi compression at 1 mile high, while I have 100), or my car is really fast https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png. It just surprised me that it was that close, I was expecting him to hit boost and just fly away, but that's not what happened. I dunno though, it does feel pretty damn strong when I'm in it, so maybe my car is just faster than I thought.
What about you guys? Any of you turbo guys ever raced an N/A, or vice versa?
