I was driving home last night on I-5 at 3:00 am and came up on 2 VWs, one Jetta and one GTI. The Jetta had a license plate that said VTEC THS (thought that was funny). As I was passing them they sped up and started to pace me. The Jetta was the first to punch it, then I did, then the GTI. I was pulling away from the Jetta, but the GTI was pulling away from me (I figured he would, 2900 lbs vs. 3200 lbs and he has more hp than me :frown: ). I don't know what engine the GTI had in it, but it was either the VR6 or 1.8T, sadly enought I never got close enough to him to see. We raced a few more times, and the results were the same; The GTI kicked my ass, and I kicked the Jetta's ass. Oh well, at least I beat someone too. :smilewinkgrin:

My friend has a 98 GTI, it is a pretty quick little car. The first time I drove it I was rapping out the RPM's when a limiter kicked in and cut power to the engine. Scared the **** out of me. I believe his has the stock 4 banger. The guy you raced must of had some mods, because you could pull on the stock 4. 544:smilewinkgrin:

I knew the GTI would kill me. I've raced the 1.8T Golf (4 door GTI) and beat them. I think I might go out and buy a 50 or 75 shot NOS systen for my car. I would have beat him then. Then I can be fast when I want to, and even better, I can look as cool as the people in Fast and the Furious! :newlaugh: When I bought the DVD it came with a coupon for $50 off a NOS system. Would I want a dry or a wet set up?

****, I'd mount my NOS botton out of sight, so not even my passenger would know. :smilewinkgrin: Oh, plus cops don't like cars being driven on the street with NOS. Big red buttons on the steering wheel might give that away. :tounge:

I guess you will just have to set it up so NOS activates at WOT. MY brother in law had what I think was a 98 firebird or something with nos. I believe it was wired to open up at WOT, but I am not sure. Man, I bought a six pack of winterhook tonight, and the last one is an IPA!! I have to be more careful.

It would probably be best on 6 ports to not come on untill after your secondaries open up, and at WOT.

So those convertibles have trunks eh? Looks like You have some place to hide your nos bottle.
