This was during a British Car Rally in September '04. We were cruising a long, straight, two lane, uphill inclined road at 11,000 ft elevation (Colorado). I was behind the 427 Cobra, who was behind an Original Mini who was sucking air at this altitude. On this 5% incline, I signalled to pass left when the Cobra saw me pulling out and figured he could get in front of me. I gave a blast on my air horn, the Mini took notice and pulled to the right shoulder, I went to the oncoming lane (fortunately empty) and we both stepped on it at about 25 mph, Cobra had a couple car lengths. I blew by him in nothing flat, and made sure I let off to shift (from full boost) as I was slighly ahead so he could hear my Blow Off Valve (PSSSSsssshhhhhtttt).
I found him at the show the next day and he was gracious enough to be photographed with my car. http://home.earthlink.net/~tamia1/WithAC.jpg BTW, we dyno'd last night and got 442 rwhp. |

drunkin_idiot,
Well 442 rwhp, 2200 lbs (curb weight), here's a link to my cornier weights (with fuel and driver) http://home.earthlink.net/~rgibsonsp...rnerWeight.jpg Mazdadrifter, I'm running 6-8 psi as a daily driver, but I push that little button on the Greddy ProbecB boost controller for serious road fun, and I get 14 psi. None of my tuners think it's safe to go above 14 psi on 91 octane pump gas (best we get in Colordo). Baldy, It's an '88 T2, rebuilt by Brian Cane. FD seals, T04 turbo (60-1 compressor, .84 A/R, p-trim, divided, ceramic coated turbine), 12" X 18" Spearco front mounted intercooler, ported throttle body (by Brian Cain), Haltech E6K computer, 2 inch custom square tube chassis, fully adjustable coil over Konis all around...
