Drove up to the local car gathering place tonight with Kelrx7r1. On the way there we came across some young, bleeched hair surfer looking dude in a black C5 Vette coupe. I caught up to him and matched his speed. He punched it, I downshifted to 3rd and walked him real easy. Took it to 4th and put 5 cars on him, then backed off. We came to a toll, and I gently accelerated and drove normally. He pulled up again then fell back. Guess he decided he had enough. There was also a a black 2nd gen pacing us during this. Wonder if he's on here? We continued on to out destination. I stopped for gas, then pulled into the lot where everyone was meeting. No police, good. There were a few cars there. We arrived late so alot of people had left already. Rob tells me there was a supercharged mustang cobra lurking around. I didn't see him, guess he was out racing. We hung out some more, and got coffee from Dunkin Dounuts. The mustang finally showed up. We decided that it was going to be me, the mustang, and Rob's C5 at the same time. I still only have 9psi, this will be interesting I thought. We head out. The mustang and C5 go at it a few times on the highway. I stay back and pace them. The Vette walked him each time. I smelled clutch burning, it was comming from the mustang. He slowed down and pulled onto the shoulder, couldn't seam to get it in gear. Kel said he saw some sparks from under his tranny. Damn, I wanted to run him. We continue down the highway to the toll. From the toll me, the C5, and a red Transam line up and launch. Its pretty even through 2nd gear, Hard shift to 3rd and I start pulling. I shifted into 4th and I'm gone. Dunno where the vette went. I think he let off. The Transam was cars back. Finally me and Rob lined up. We go from a 60 mph roll. The race is pretty even, just like last week. I've gotten better with my shifting and didn't miss any gears. In 4th gear I started pulling. The combination of top end power and higher redline gives me the advantage. I waved and he exited. I dropped Kel off and cruised home.
