We had a cruise today with a bunch of vettes, vipers, supras, a ferrari 355, nsx, rx-7, etc. I ran a newer gunmetal viper gts. We went from a 60 mph roll and I started in 3rd gear. We were side by side for a second untill my turbo spooled, and then I got a car length on him, and then slowly pulled. I had my eyes on the road so I didn't look to see how far back he was before I let of at 150 something, maybe 2-3 cars back. One of the guys got it on video so hopefully I'll be able to post a link soon when he uploads it. We went again from a 2nd gear roll, but I missed 3rd gear. I have up at that point and he flew by me. I found out later that he had exhaust and no cats, so I'm assuming full exhaust. It was pretty loud and sounded mean. Also ran a couple vettes with no trouble. I got my ass handed to me by a supra though, who was making at least 600 rwhp. We went form a 3rd gear roll and he slowly pulled away from me. When we backed off I was maybe 3 cars back. I wasn't dissapointed as he was making alot more power than me.

Nice kill! Always good to be able to say you can beat a Viper GTS.

Good kills.... sounds like that 35/40 is a sweet turbo for the 7.

I know this isn't a 100+ MPH highway blast. But.. I just beat a Viper GTS in this past weekends Autocross. He was trying so hard to beat me too. We were both in the ASP class and in the 3rd heat he ran a 37.05 to my 37.07 best. I then went out and threw down a 35.99 but hit 3 cones after the finish!! (yes, they count for 6 seconds of penalties). Then I went out and ran a 36.25 and he ran a 36.47.
I took 1st place https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png BTW - My TII has 225 RWHP and runs on 255 rear tires. Viper man was left shaking his head in disbelief. |
Jims5543:
How is that possible? Was that some feat of car handling or was it straight line acceleration or what? |
