First off, I'm happy to announce my first mod that I paid for besides what the car came with: Blitz Super-Sound BOV...sounds BEAUTIFUL, and it's set really soft, and is dual-stage or something, so it lets out air even at vacuum.

k anyways

Tonight was awesome. Was cruisin "the strip" as I always do on the weekends, and at one point I find myself driving next to a very nice, clean, and modified 300ZX. Well, I wanted to run him, really bad, just to see how I'd do.

I was going to run him at this one red light, but I had to make a left at the very next light right afterwards and I would have been in the right lane. Well, I'm behind him, and light turns green. I rode the clutch a little to have my car at higher RPM's and next thing I know he's goin full throttle, I shifted @ 6,500 and sliding left and right like a mother ****** and pulling closer and closer to his rear bumper as I did. It was beautiful. LoL...I laughed so hard and thought "haha! I can beat him, whoooo!" Turns out he made a left where I was, but he ran a yellow and I stopped. The guy next to me was his buddy and I'm like "Man, I was gonna eat him alive." He's like "Oh really?" Pulls out a cell, and I'm like "LoL, woah man, well yeah I wanted to run him, but don't tell him I said THAT, I don't wanna come off as an *******, cause I'm not." and he's like "C'mon man, I gotta quote you." Well basically, he calls, he says "I got a guy that wants to run you......THAT RX-7 YOU IDIOT!" and the Z guy says "no I don't wanna go to jail" or something, and I'm like "That's cool man, it's all good."

Later on I found myself next to a nice red Stealth.. Take a closer look and it was TT. I got the guy's attention and complimented him on it, it's rare to see those in my area. Well basically after some laps there was a point where it was me, him, and my brother in his SR'd 240 next to each other on a 3 lane road, me in the middle. My brother takes off, the stealth takes off, then I take off @ 4000RPM in 2nd gear, and dude, I immediately pulled on that Stealth like it was a Civic, and by the end of just 2nd gear, I was TWO cars ahead of his *** and keeping right with my brother.

Yeah, I messed around with a buncha domestics, rice, w/e...fun night.

Later on went into a far away parking lot with my bro, and 2 Miata friends, and drifted it up. Goddamn I'm an idiot though, I was trying to drift in 1st gear, I spun out like 3 times, but I got in a FEW nice ones, it was my first try ever so I'm not TOO ashamed. My brother on the other hand was TEARIN IT UP, OMG, he was doing awesome wide *** drifts with full counter-steering, it was AWESOME. THe miata's are stock and with no hp, it was kinda hard, but they still got in some nice ones, it was fun. They were saying I was shooting flames like a mother ******. Not huge ones, just like 6 inch ones that flared up. ^_^

Street Racing + Drifting + Gas Money From Friend = Fun Night!! ^_^

Can somebody explain to me why a BOV opening while the turbo is in VACUUM a bad thing?

It is good though, because if you ARE trying to spool the turbo there's no reason why you would let off the throttle while you're still in vacuum. It's helpful for daily driving cause if I build up like -10 vacuum it'll release air through the BOV and that helps to eliminate that whole like...backwards turbulence thing..I dunno! :P

Yeah, I'm confused. I don't understand why you would want the BOV to be open all the time. Sounds like instead of a valve you want a hole and that doesn't make sense to me. 'Course...I don't have a turbo car so maybe it's something I don't know about.

i have a greddy type R BOV and it opens when i let off the gas even when im not in boost. it opens because when you go from say -20 to -10 it takes more air to get there....dont know if this answers your question.
