He was dragged for a 1/4 mile, they probably fell off.

Holy ****....

This is why I drive my bike at the speed limit...

that just scares me to know that things like this happen...why do people throw away a gift as prescious as life?

Hmmm, surprised the family has not found out about that page yet.

But yeah, that is pretty crazy. And to be honest, it's the cyclist's fault 100%, he dug his own grave.

I've owned streetbikes since I was 18 and in some cases it was my only transportation. Thank god i was never in any accidents, but accidents are just that, accidental. They would call them intentionals if they weren't.

Phins,

I agree with everything else you say, so being the cranky old bird that I am, I will take issue with the one thing I disagree with. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

There are some accidents which are truly accidental, but many (if not most) can be directly attributed to an act of blatant stupidity or extreme negligence.

Is it accidental if a tailgater slams into the back of the car he was tailgating when the first car slams on brakes in reaction to some event ahead of him?

Is it accidental if someone pulls out onto a main road from a side street without checking for oncoming traffic and is struck broadside by another vehicle?

Is it accidental when a drunk gets behind the wheel, speeds, crosses a double yellow and kills the driver of an oncoming car?

I would say that the "accident" that results from these and many other common scenarios are not "accidental" but rather very predictable outcomes of stupid and negligent behavior.

After I post this, I lost my best friend to a motorcycle accident on 5-6-07

I will NEVER get a bike.

my brother was in two bike wrecks in a couple months.. both times stupid girls pulled out in front of him with out looking.. once was @ abou 40 mph and he did a flip over the hood and lost his helmet and shoes .. he landed feet first and face planted.. his helment flew off cause he put it on quick for a short ride and didnt latch it properly.. but he faired rather well.. about a month later he got a new bike and same thing happened but at about 30.. and he bounced off the side of the car..

point is.. **** happens.. you have to really watch other drivers cause there are a bunch of idiots out there who drive like crap..

I just have to say.

RESPECT THE BIKE and know your limits.

This is the part that I find amazing: "He said that the impact was so strong that he thought he was hit from behind by another truck."

I didn't realize that a bike going even as fast as he was could generate so much force! I want a bike someday, but I will respect it! WOW!
