My friend just bought a tsi talon. It is a 94 and looks really good. The guy who owned it before put in a new alternater, water pump, tranny, harder clutch, increased some piping size for the intercooler, blow off valve, some kind of MAF so it can be tuned some, and their is an intake, different tires, and thats about all i can think of. I have a 90 N/A true dual exhaust, intake and wires with a box on my intake and TB mod. Well he just got it and wanted to race since i was his only competetition out of our friends. I figured he would win but when we lined up i had a really nice launch and got about 3 car lengths. Down the road, once his turbo kicked in he caught up some but i still one over all. When we pulled over he was just in awe, and i think a little disapointed since he paid 4,500 hundred and it had all that stuff done to it. I think he could have launched better but this one i still won. Woo Hoo https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Either your a great driver or he can't drive lol.

I know (jk) he's just not used to the car. Race him again when he learns to drive it.

I'm not a big fan of talons, but something seems so out of place with him losing.

He wants to go again so i will update this once we go again. I would rather not because it killed my clutch last time and im not sure how old the one in there is so i would rather not test it. Maybe this next time he will do a better job of driving

A bad/good driver makes a big factor in a race.

it may seem out of place but my 1987 NA with cone filter,rb header, and custom dual exhaust beat a vr4. I don't unerstand how other than the driver of the vr4 couldn't drive worth **** and really did not know what his car was capable of, and when to shift.

the reason the rx one is because it has a high reving rotary motor in it. That talon will never be able to crank out the rpm's that the rotary can. Also in drag racing it is all about the take off and a rx can smoke a tsi off the line.
