well here is the story i was coming home from work at about 3 in the morning and i noticed a 240 was cruising down the interstate and he was next to a saturn ion. so i decided to get behind the ion and then i heard a roar from the 240 and noticed no exhaust so i knew instantly who was going to get killed in this race. well then the ion noticed i was riding his ass and reving my engine(the ricer thing) and the 240 noticed too. so we take off goin 80 and the 240 is struggling and by the time we get to 115mph the 240 drops out (hit speed limiter) so its me and the ion im drafting him up to about 120-125 and the i decided to go for it so i swing out next to him and fly by the ion and i looked at him and waved as he is gettin passed. I know he wasn't slowing down beacause you can tell when someone is slowing down in your mirror. I knew he was still on the gas so i decided to give my car a little more and when i looked down at my Speedometer i was goin 137 mph and the ion slowly gettin smaller and smaller and in the end it was all worth it. the dumb part was i was out on the interstate so if i blew a tire i would have beed screwed. so now i only go out on tracks unless i see a honda. hhhmmm mmm eatin civics and shittin accords https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

I just bought my 88 fc3s and i have only had it at 125mph in fourth gear i havent tried to go any faster on the stock motor and suspension set up

i cant wait to put mods on it i just joind an rx7 club here in indiana and when i buy the stuff for my car i take to all of the member of the club im in and they put it on for free. next summer is when i start with the project and i'll deffinately be going over 140. but when im out on a road course i most likely wont get up to that fast.

when i was in fifth i was cruising at 137 at around 5000 rpm's and when i redline i go up to 7500 rpm's

I took a stock FD to 162mph. Scary

umm.. a turbo or two, just about everything peripherally attached to the engine, rotor housings, rotors... scratch that, everything but the displacement and engine type

Wow. Pure stupidity. Why would you even go that fast? Imagine a large gust of wind coming along under the car? I am not preaching to you, but that is just insane. The fastest I ever went in my FC when I had it was 100mph. After that type of speed, you are asking for death on a plate.

Well whats even more crazyer is that my car was stock so i had alot of play in the steering and i almost ran off the road... plus not to mention i was going down hill on the most narrowest dirt road possible... i find it funny now but it wasnt when i was in the heat of the moment

Highest I had my stock fc to was 143.....

You guys should carry a GPS, and find out how fast you're REALLY going.

Stock Na's usually top out around 130 or maybe a tad bit more, I've never seen any higher numbers personally.

racingbeat has a fc that tops at 238mph im not sure if its n/a or not. but its all about gearing. you can put gears in you car with a 0-60 rate of 60sec but top out over 200+ plus and also i said it will have to potential i never said it will because it is going to be setup for roadcourse and autocross

in 5th the tranny runs out of gear, the t2 tranny is worse. but doing tripple MPH is retarded.

i understand what you guys are talking about. It is dangerous but its ******* FUN. I was very scared though when i did that, since it was the first time i ever took my car over 100mph. i was holding the steering wheel straight and the car was strafing left and right due to the wind. Good thing the 4 lane highway was EMPTY it was at 4aM...and i was moving between two lanes in and out. so thats how i know ya need to setup ure car more properly before you do something like that.



I drive fast on average but not passed 100mph if the roads aint empty

I have gone 120 in my NA in fourth (top of fourth) down a raod that was kind of bendy and bumpy. It was not a good idea however it made me wonder what 5th would do, it doesn't seem strong but if i was going 120 in fourth i was hopeing for 140 in fifth. One day when i get the balls and the right track/road i will.

what happened to me was when i shifted into fifth it slowly started creaping up and i was was a little upset but yet i was surprised. i was upset because i thought it would have a little bit more acceleration than it did but then when i got it up to 137 and i was surprised for a stock 88 n/a thats not bad.

yeah you won't have enough time to do that on the track to slow down. 5th is overdrive your not going to go much faster, quit while your ahead and still alive.

my 88 rx7 wont go past 125 i have a cold air intake headers exhaust ignition hks plugs magnacore wires my car is fast i can spank almost all the 240's v 6 mustangs na 3000 gt's mazda 3's it is quick but wont go past 125 in fourth after i throw fith it starts to slow down

i've never noticed any kind of problems going over 100mph. I've never heard of an indy rx7 club. I want details on this so i can join. And the racing beat car was turboed, thats how it got up that fast. And if you watch any videos online, they crashed the first 3rd gen car they did. I was bad. So get safety equipment like a roll cage if you plan on doing this a lot.
