My lowly little 2 litre skyline which doesnt really have that many mods...

-3" exhaust from Turbo back

-Tuned ECU

-10PSI

-Stock Cooler

-Daiken Button Racing Clutch

-POD Filter

-5speed manual

had a drag at calder park raceway in melbourne against a 5.7litre V8 SS Automatic with a full exhaust and extractors which was putting out 300kw or 400HP to those who have no idea what a KW is https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Was a legal drag which me and my gf went to (girlfriend owns a twin turbo soarer with a 3.5" catback with a 5" tip and a HKS pod filter) not long ago.

Ended up lining up and getting a pretty good launch... he got a little ahead but then i started pulling him in and passing him quite easily.

Ended up running a 14.08 sec @ 93.4MPH which is a decent ET for that low MPH

he ran a 14.7

Then lined up against my gf... i ran a 14.5 (ouch) and she ran a 14.8 (didnt help she didnt do a burn out before lining up after they wet the track for her and she had traction control on and power set to norm https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...)

However the next one i got done with a very bad launch https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png i ran a 14.8 and she ran a 14.2 @ 101MPH with the same things still turned on.

I jumped in her car and turned everything to power and OD and no TRC and ran a 13.8 @ 102MPH

http://www.holden.com.au//images/uploads/v...y/img_ss_04.jpg - incase u dont know what an SS is this is what it looks like.

Damn dude, that is freakin awesome!!! Great kill!! There is nothing about a Skyline that is "lowly"!! And your gf whips a Soarer! How hot is that!?!? Most tuners don't even know what a Soarer is! You're living most tuner's dream man, keep it up!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683621.gif I have a sweet ass poster of a FD and a Soarer drifting!

Props to you both!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif I would love to do the same with my gf, but her 94 Honda Accord just doesn't have the same effect beside my FD... Oh well....

inark 03-27-2004 11:39 PM

tried working that out myself...

they are quite a heavy car... about 1750kgs or something... and the auto box is pretty pox.

it says 14.78sec @ 98MPH on the slip...

Holden has a HSV GTS which is the same engine and supposed same output but with a claimed 0-400m of 13.7 for the auto... but HSV is the special vehicle section of holden.

FikseRxSeven 03-28-2004 10:14 PM

thats one hot lookin car

Holden always thinks there HSV are so great. Slow peices of **** if you ask me. Have you raced against a XR6 turbo (Ford), there not to bad.

But still Ford/Holden same ****.

TyresmokinRx7 03-29-2004 11:37 AM

Extractors = Header pipes.

I would agree especially since 400m is less than a 8 feet less than we run here in the states.

I think the guy was full of **** saying he was pushing 400rwhp. More likely 400FWHP which converts out to 325 rwhp with a 14.7 is still slow but a little easier to swallow with a bad driver.

inark 03-29-2004 08:31 PM

its 300kw at the fly not rw... i thought i put that in the original post.

ive raced a stock ford XR6 turbo and beat it but i raced one with an exhaust and chip and got thrashed https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png but beat it again another night in my gfs car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png so much easier to launch in her car and get a decent time.

thanks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png....headers and an exhaust doesn't equal 400hp

inark 03-29-2004 09:04 PM

ummmm... ive seen the dyno sheet... the guy that owns the car is my Team Manager. Has "headers" https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png and a full exhaust (hes trying to explain it to me now...) an S pipe... whatever that is... airflow box... im guessing hes talking about the air intake...

on the dyno it put out 298kw @ the fly which works out to be 399.62HP

toddp31 03-29-2004 09:10 PM

I have seen that FC on japanese yahoo

inark 03-29-2004 09:12 PM

FlamingGuts 03-29-2004 11:47 PM

is it a holden?...ls1 v8 or ls6? what was the baseline hp?

TyresmokinRx7 03-30-2004 08:41 AM

300KW is from a V8 and you can get LS1 and II

mazdadrifter 03-30-2004 09:30 AM

what body kit is on that fc? very tastefull

Is the soarer red?

inark 03-30-2004 07:22 PM

that kit is a mixture... the front bar is R Magic and the skirts are either R Magic too or G Sports.

baseline...

not too sure what they put out as a base... i think about 300HP at the fly... maybe a little less

FlamingGuts 03-30-2004 08:44 PM

was the Soarer sold in the US?

twstdmtl 04-01-2004 01:54 PM

Nice kill!

Soarers are tight as hell but I can't remember if they are equivalent to the Lexus SC300 or Toyota Supra... Both used the JZZ 3.0 if I am not mistaken. Anybody know what this car is in America???

cwphoto 04-01-2004 11:51 PM

The Soarers I know of either had a 2.5T or a 4.0 V8 (Lexus SC400). As far as I'm aware, the Supras are 3.0 TT or non-T.

I'll vouch for the Commodore's sluggish performance from 400 rwhp, they are a big car and the LS1 lacks some torque down low compared to other motors...
