345rwhp at 7060 RPM.

Dyno estimates my crank power to be 380.

Holy jumpin gehoesiphatz! Not too shabby at all. At the flywheel - well I have my reservations about estimating power using unknown variables. But all the same, damn them's some fine numbers. Even better when you take into account the weight of your car. Take that you fat asses cars. With a power/weight ratio like that, too bad you can't verify your 1/4 mile time. I know it'd kill a lot of chumps in SoCal. You know it too I bet. Time will tell, right? :smirk:

Please tell me you plan on getting wider wheels to take wider tires on the back of that beast. 17x9JJ wheels for a 180SX should be easy to find at a good price if you aren't too picky about looks or the style. Q-Power always seems to have some nice goodies (mostly for the old school crowd though (plus what's with the white AE86 in front that they've been trying to sell forever?)). I'm sure traction loss is more of an issue than ever. At least when you aren't snapping **** like dry chicken bones. :bigok: Keep breakin' **** and you know you're on the right track.

Hey, this is off on a tangent but what clutch setup does Justin have? The one that he got from you when I was there. He never gave me a good answer when I asked him way back when. It was an ACT setup with 6 puck, right? Which pressure plate/clutch disk was it. Details if it was the heavy duty or Xtreme versions will help. I think I'm going to have to step up to a 6 puck soon and I like the way his engaged. Not an on/off switch like everybody said it should be. It felt a lot like my ACT heavy duty pp/cd setup that WAS set way too low into the firewall. It's set a bit higher now.

nice! at 9psi i made 352 rwhp on my T78 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Yeah, but 20.5 psi would probably blow your motor! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif

SR's like the boost. They don't move air like the 13B does. You have to push the **** in there pretty hard to make power. In the end, its all fast... right?

The clutch in Justin's car is an ACT 6 puck disk with a Nismo pressure plate and a Trust flywheel. It DOES engage like an on/off switch. It's harder than my OS Giken to drive.

Oh yeah, and the variables are not necessarily unknown, as the dyno measures the amount of drag your car makes on the rollers during decel. It then adds that percentage across the board until it comes up with your final power figure. I am using the WHP measurement, which doesn't include any estimates... 345rwhp.

i know i'm just ******* with ya!

my car saw 19.2 psi for about 5 seconds. i broke an axle at the track and left it on high boost 20psi. i passed someone going on the highway. they were going about 75-80mph and i passed them like they were standing still. i look at speedo 130mph. let off gas look at sbc id peak boost 19.2 psi. i can't wait to run 20-25psi. the only reliable thing on my FD has been the engine. i have broken everything else https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

1bad180sx 01-06-2003 07:26 PM

run 20-25 psi and watch its reliability drop quickly.

vosko 01-06-2003 11:37 PM

watch it drop quickly on any car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

my car will only be run at that high boost on C16 and at the dragstrip. 95% of the time will be 15-17psi..... which is way more power than i need on the street :bigthumg:

I think I'll go with the ACT 6 puck and stay with the HD pressure plate then. I thought it wasn't much worse than what I have now. But soon I'll be turning up the wick a bit more so I'll need a clutch to handle at least 350rwhp. Not that I'll be doing that with a hi-flo turbo, but it's nice to have a little bit of overkill.

on my old 89 TII. i ran the ACT 6 puck setup.... it is great. i loved it and daily drove on it !
