its safe, even better then that home jobbie is to mix some good degreaser with hot water and scrub that thing by hand with a brush, then wet vac it, wash it with some clean water, and wet vac it again
|
i gotta try this^^ my carpet is FUCKED up lol
|
using bio-degradable degreaser is best, I use a product from Auto Magic called Engine Wash.
|
cool thanks rob... was afraid some of the moisture might get trapped underneath..
carpet is in good condition... just needs cleanin.. get the new leathers on the seats and shell be good to go.. |
good point- try not to do this in the winter unless you can get the car indoors to dry properly.
Otherwise it will take forever for that carpet to dry out. I used to use a small heater and fans to dry the cars out when I had my shop. |
Just dont soak that ****, and it shouldnt be too wet. But let it sit open for a few hours at least after doing this. U just need to get it damp with the water/soap mixture. Then scrub, then vacumm dry. This works wonderfully.

Good info, going in FAQ!

ifu have some really tough ones you can buy a da sander and get an atachable brush on it. Stuff scrubs it out so easy making it simple and piece of cake. While your there you might as well get an odor remover.
