I have a really goo deal going on right now for fenders. It is a 87 TII, I have an 88 Sport. Will they fit? And is it really worth getting an aluminium hood? I know the weight difference is pretty good, but will I notice any drops in the temperature since it is a thinner material?

I am getting all this for cheap. Would it be haggard if I put a TII hood on my N/A? I am not no ricer, I am just looking to keep the engine bay cool. FD3Boost said it should be doable. Anyone done it?

Thanks

Justin

it wouldn't be a bad thing, wouldnt be a great upgrade or anything but the tii hood does look better so that choice is up to u.

I thought the fenders were the same?!

I am not looking for more power. I just want my engine bay temps and engine temps to stay lower. I am running really hot right now, and it is bothering me. The cosmetics would be a plus.

I dunno mazdabation, that is why I am asking. I have an S4 and the fenders are off a S4 tII. All that **** I mentioned for 110. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Well then ya...i believe they are the exact same thing. the only difference would be the hood, aluminum and with the scoop. For that price id grab it all, the hood alone is worth that.

If you want to run cooler, put a lower opening temp thermostat in and run an electric fan with an adjustable thermo sensor, that is if you've done all the other troubleshooting on the cooling system and are still running hot. The aluminum skinned hood will not make much of a difference, more an asthetic modification...

I would remove all the weather stripping from thh engine bay and maybe even the wind guards that attach to the hood just behind the headlights. All that would help improve airflow over the engine and improve your cooling capability. Also look into improving the duct work to your oil cooler & or radiator. You could very easily make a duct tape duct that feeds the air directly to the oil cooler and rad so that you are utailizing all the air instead of the air being able to escape around those two without passing through the cooling fins. As you know I am a strong beliver in black duct tape. It can be your friend too. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

dave- your talking FD lingo, cooling is not an issue on FCs, especially

N/A FCs in good mechanical condition

when you take away all the weatherstripping around the headlights

it leaves you with some ugly gaps.

Yea, I suppose I didnt consider that a less hot engine bay wouldnt need mods like that. But he did say that he wanted to help lower his temps and the advice I gave would lower temps.
