OK, the stereo was stolen out of my car a few years ago (89 convertible, 22K miles, in storage). I installed a totally new security system with all the bells and whistles and a new head unit. Well, couldn't get the headrest speakers to work. Turns out the input to the stock head rest amp is not a line level signal, it is a speaker level signal. It was a simple matter once the stereo guy figured it out to run a speaker level signal into the amp. Stock volume controls on console work and everything. I would assume he also had to figure out which was the turn on lead for it as well? Or did the line level turn it on? |
i had the same problem. so i jus said screw it... and ditched those stupid factory amps and just ran new speaker wires to all 8 of my speakers.

i figured all that out.. it was a pain but i got it.. the amp turn on was a blue and yellow wire i beleive..
