Ok...I haven't done anything to my car recently other than installing a new battery a few weeks ago.
I just drove the car today and I noticed that the power to my cd player cuts off for a second or two whenever I run over bumps (even small ones). And every time that happens, the ABS light on my dash lights up. I'm guessing I probably have something lose. The question is, where? Should I pull out my head unit and start checking connections? Or does the fault lie with some ABS activation sensor (which cuts off the power to the stereo whenever it senses the ABS has been activated?). Any help would be appreciated. -mike |
I'd start at the new battery... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I have had the same problem with mine. Its the radio fuse. What happens is the connectors loosen up and the fuse looses contact. To fix it you can try taking the fuse out and installing a new one (sometimes old one is worn down) or pry the connectors on the fuse itself in opposite directions a little. Let me know how you make out.

Hmmm....i'll check the battery connections and the fuse tomorrow...but the problem seems to have gone away for now.
Thanks for the suggestions. But it still doesn't explain why the ABS light goes on.... |
goes on because the car is "dying" and then restarting... just like when you turn the key. Its a bad contact on your terminals. Fix it, make sure they are REALLY tight. Your problems will go away.

put back on really tight. |
