Hey guys i was hoping you overseas guys can help me out. I got some oem sidemarker repeater lights and i want to stick them in the same place as it is normally located on non us version cars. what i need is a measurement from the top of the duct in the fendor to the center of the light, and a measurement from the wheel well to the center of light. i figure those to distances will allow me to get pretty close to being in the correct spot. then any advice of cutting the fendor would be nice.

thanks

john

drilling through and cutting the fender makes me queezy

treceb 02-21-2004 12:34 PM

actually, umm i beleive all 93-96 cars have it in the same place. 96 + cars have em closer to the door and higher, more of a european look...

at least thats what it seems like when looking at cars with 96+ front turn signals vs 93-96 turn signals.

so if u were to get newer fender, the lights woild be where u r looking to place those.

as long as they dont interfere with the ings+1 side skirts that i am going to get then i dont care which year i get the measurements from.

I might be able to help make a template, its just crazy right now....

Do you have clear winkers or the orange?

apexkw 02-27-2004 12:41 PM

i got the orange ones. and i got a template to cut the hole just not where to line it up on the fendor. maybe you can send it over with the next thing i buy... those radiator fans are calling my name...along with th feed oil cap...feed brake cap..um and your whole website!!!

you could just make a templete of the part of the fender where it meets

the wheel well, like 1/4 of the fender, make it from paper so you can

mail it in a envelope and he can tape it to his car to figure it out

apexkw 02-27-2004 08:34 PM

yea thats basically all i want... or some points of reference so i know where the center of the hole/light is. then with the crappy corksport template i can make the hole.

JT-Imports 02-28-2004 12:31 AM

Yeah thats what I was thinking about, some clear paper/plastic... Seems simple enough especially if I had stock fenders haha I will see what I can do..

did anyone firgure out exactly where to put the hole on the fender? Also did u guys get the side from mazda dealer or corksport? I got 2 different set, 1 from mazda dealer which is dot approved and smaller than the oem jdm type, Which means only need to cut a smaller hole. The 2nd type is from corksport is bigger than the mazda dealer type and it's say depot on the lens, also the hole need to bigger to make it fit. But it look like jdm type.

apexkw 03-10-2004 07:19 AM

well i got mine from a guy who bought them from corksport. jt-imports lives in japan so his car came with them stock. but nope i didnt get a template yet.

JT-Imports 03-10-2004 08:54 AM

Yeah sorry about that bro, I have been super busy. Hopefully I can see what I can do on the weekend.

apexkw 03-10-2004 12:33 PM
