I pulled out the bose radio in my FD, and accidentally tore some wires.. can someone identify these? Any advise on repairs?
I am replacing the stereo unit. |
I dont know for sur ebut generally black is a ground..
What is that, the radio? |
they look like grounds to me, and if i am not mistaken, isn't there another lead for the antenna coming from that part of the radio as well? i know that there ARE 2 power sources for the antenna, and that is why i do not have my radio hooked up, the antenna is unsightly and just one more thing for me to NOT have to worry about anymore....

black is usually ground but since im not familar with the fd system i cant help you out anymore than that.
|
Thats right , The thick one is the antenna and the other should be the ground.

they are the antenna wires. one is for the main antenna the other is for the small antenna. i cant remember the name of the antenna (small one). its no big deal. you can solder them back together. if your taking out your radio any way dont worry about it. there should be a connection on the right side of the radio bezel that you can plug your new antenna into. you will need antenna adapters though. i broke them when i pulled mine out too. the small one really doesnt do anything any way. later sully

thanks for the responses! I found the pre-head unit sockets for the 2 antennas, and made my own adapter to the new (motorola style) plug.
