What's up people! Just wanted to let everyone know that you guys really make this a cool site. I've been lurking a bit and now it looks like I can finally help contribute. I've recently purchased a quick release from a company by the name of "Esses". The universal adapter goes for $149.00 BUT if you have a circuit racing license (SCCA, NASA,etc) they will take off $40.00. I ended up getting mine for 114.28 shipped (I'm in Michigan). Here's the site.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif

hmm how is the quality

BFGRX-7 11-15-2003 02:08 PM

With regards to quality, I'm not quite sure yet as I haven't taken delivery. I've gotten this particular company from an industry contact of mine. To give you an idea about this company, they have been chosen to be the "factory team" for Honda in the 25 hour race out in Cali this December. If you know anything about Honda's plan for road racing in the US, it's nill (it's supposed to be just Acura). If you'd like, I can give you detailed info. on this item when I get it.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

thanks....

i pretty much just wanted to make sure that all peices are made of aluminum or some kind of metal, that way its durable, unlike plastic. plus, im using it more for anti theft rather than racing

Just got my "Esses" quick release and all I've got to say is WOW! This is a quality product that is a mix of aluminum (quick release mechanism) and heavy guage steel (base). There is a nice, snug fit between the base and the quick release so there's no need to worry about any sloppiness when you go to turn the wheel. It even came greased and ready to go! The directions include an exploded view of the product with easy to understand wording. If someone can tell me how to get the pics up (I have Kodak easyshare) I'll take care of that now. I know I'm a newbie and you don't know my rep from nothing but I'd highly recommend this product! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

my friend has had one (i think sparco) on his 240 for a couple of years, and its nice cause hes got a racing seat and a cage. just make sure you put a pair of vise grips in the back so you can drive the car if something happens to the wheel
