Can someone recommend a good oil-free (non-armorall) interior dressing?
|
I use Mothers. It says it's non oily and uses silicon emulsion, other than that I have no idea if it's really oil free.
Works good. |
the whole point of interior dressing is the silicone, or "grease " as you call it that protects the surfaces.
There are some "body shop safe" silicone free dressings, but you would have to check a local auto detail supply store for that kind of thing. |
I was at a full-service car wash, they used a product that was 'oil free' or some ****, said it was better for the surfaces than armorall. Just curious.

maybe they were using a body shop safe dressing, either way your not getting the protection of the silicone. by the way- armorall is garbage compared to a good silicone based dressing, armorall has some alcohol in it, which is pretty useless. |
Maybe that's what they were referring to. So I understand that the vinyl needs to be protected, but what about the plastic trim? is it necessary to dress those as well? or is that just done for aesthetics?
|
the plastic benefits as well, keeps it from being brittle and keeps
the sun from beating the crap out of it |
Buy the Meguirs in the red bottle with the black head and spout.
Good **** i promise. |
Is'nt it the oil that gives it the shine?
