Go with the momo...Those things are sweet. And they feel so good on the hands. That italian leather on it is soooooo soft. :bigok:

Baldy 02-17-2003 03:09 PM

if I can't decide, I always ask this question:

Which is cheaper?

works every time, though my wife hates to hear it ("honey, which looks better on me?" " the cheaper one!")

SpawnVII 02-17-2003 03:19 PM

I've had the same experiences. I'm hoping a $90 MOMO knob works a little better than my old (S13) $20 Pep Boys special, though.. hehe

yayer 02-18-2003 07:26 PM

hrmmmm... these setscrew types don't spin on like the stock shifter? how do you put them on?

Joe Flo 02-18-2003 07:32 PM

I understand the concern with the setscrew types. After I put my new clutch in and replaced the shifter it was hard for me to tighten it. Before the job it had never came loose and it was almost impossible to get it off before. I figured that the screws came loose with the vibrations of the car. So I would tighten it. Drive for 5 minutes...tighten again and then repeat the process one more time. In the end it never came loose again. :bigok:

I had a momo and they semi screw on. (I guess thats how you say it) mine would screw on a lil bit of the way and then you tightened the screws

No, they have three setscrews that radius the bottom of the knob. The knob usually comes with a few different nylon sleeves that make up the difference for various brands of shift arm diameter. You pick the closest one, slide it in, then tighten the setscrews. If you look at the pic of the MOMO knob I posted, you can see a black base - that is actually a threaded valence that covers the setscrews.

lol, that's always a good option.. :bigthumg:

rx7machine 02-19-2003 05:16 PM

Yea, why don't you broaden your choices a little bit? I know I've seen some other ones I've liked before.. but haven't really researched on any of them.. so, not too familar with the screw on type delimas..

mike

I was just going to say the same thing.

I have a few OMPs Im going to try to sell

Normal price $90, but I will let them go

for $65 shipped.

OOPS look at me go. Anyway they have the

set screw, and it came loose, but I put a little

tape on the inside threads and its all good now.

JT-Imports 02-19-2003 08:57 PM

haha OMP is a company in ITALY very popular here at least.

Pretty much the same as Sparco, just a different name.

I voted!!! hehe

Sinful7 02-19-2003 08:58 PM

hehe.. I see that.. I already bought the MOMO F16 Evo, so we'll see how it all works out. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png I figure it'll go well with my new short shifter!!

JT-Imports 02-19-2003 09:00 PM

hehe sounds good man. Good luck with it, try the tape if it comes

lose on ya.
