What is this exactly. (The orange blinker thingy on the fender) I see it on all the JDM cars but I am not sure if it's a blinker that works or is it just a reflector??

Can these be added to a US car without hacking the fender to ****? :rice:

vosko 02-01-2003 01:23 PM

you can buy those from any ricer shop. i know my ricer shop had them. personally i don't like them

Seppuku 02-01-2003 01:48 PM

I think it would look better without it

Rob x-7 02-01-2003 03:45 PM

they would look good if they were recessed and didnt protrude out too far.

Fd3BOOST 02-01-2003 04:57 PM

I would only like them if they were actual blinkers..

j9fd3s 02-01-2003 05:45 PM

they are the same ones as the mazda tribute, exact same part #

mike

JT-Imports 02-02-2003 05:49 PM

They are blinkers.

I have them on my car, they come stock over here

are they recessed into the fenders?

JT-Imports 02-02-2003 06:04 PM

No not at all. They stick out maybe 3/4 inch. Since they are

blinkers you would have to cut a hole in your fender to put

them on, or just buy JDM Fenders

I have seen with and without, I think it looks good either way.

No preference either way IMO

Rob x-7 02-02-2003 06:08 PM

so the fenders only have a hole in them?

they arent shaped around the blinkers and the blinkers sit recessed

into the fender?

nope, the tribute has the exact same ones and there is just a hole in the fander, no recess or anything

mike

JT-Imports 02-02-2003 07:08 PM

Yeah they just have a hole.

You have seen the ones on the rear bumper on the left and right side right? Those are recessed a little, but the ones on the fron fender are straight up on a flat fender...

Im almost positive...

I can go out to my car this afternoon, after I get these boxes out of here and I will go check it out for you man..

Fd3BOOST 02-02-2003 08:56 PM

I cut no holes in my fenders.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I'lll leave those to you guys in Japan.

rx7machine 02-02-2003 09:15 PM

Yea same here.

9BASE3 02-05-2003 11:55 AM

Every damn civic, integra, fiesta, minitruck and John deere have them here...

I remember being one of the first people to put them on a car here... Well, other than a BMW that is...

papasmurf 02-09-2003 04:37 AM

if you put the anneversary fender flares on your fd wouldnt that REQUIRE you to put the blinkers in then because they have a recessed area for them? if you didnt itd look like total ass.

It has been said that the fenders arent recessed for the light, the light

just sits on top.

papasmurf 02-10-2003 12:36 PM

it looks recessed. i swear it had a cut out already for the marker.... ill search for pics... or if rotaryextreme will fill us in, i know the black car has it.

Rob x-7 02-10-2003 12:51 PM

hm, jt imports who lives in japan says they arent recessed.

papasmurf 02-10-2003 01:03 PM

the fender flares? or the stock jdm fd fender? i know the jdm is not recessed.

treceb 02-10-2003 01:09 PM

the fenders on the blue car are some kind of aftermarket, the fenders on the

silver one a bit further down are stock with the side markers, they arent recessed.

JT-Imports 02-10-2003 08:45 PM

Without a doubt, those are not original JDM fenders

If you guys had read his post properly, you would have noticed he was asking about the Mazdaspeed(doesnt say that part) "anniversary" fender flares.

So if you do install the Mazdaspeed wide body kit (includes Front and rear wide body fender flares), yes the front side markers would be recest into the fender.

If you do not install the light, there will be a hole there, that you could possibly fill in wiht FBG.

As for the blue car. It looks as if the Mazdaspeed flares were used in some way and molded into the fender. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

Very simple: In the US we have the side markers/blinkers on the bumper. In Japan and europe they have them on the fenders. Take a look at your front bumper on the sides and you will notice the other set of blinkers. On the JDM bumpers they do not have them.

Actually, the original post was this:

No where did he mention Mazdaspeed or anniversary fenders, the original question was : can these be added without hacking", then the thread went off asking if they were recessed, which in fact they arent on the blue car he originally posted. Then someone ELSE posted a pic of that other blue car, which OBVIOUSLY has the recessed lights.

I think we are all confusing each other.

Seppuku 02-11-2003 07:27 PM

yeah this is defintly confusing

Actually Its my fault, I should of done an "edit" on my post after.

I should have mentiond that I was quoting "papasmurf" first post.

He was stating that you had to put blinkers in if you used the anniversary kit flares.

After that, peeps were still telling him that they are not recessed in the fender, when in turn he was correct that they would be if you used the flares. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Cheers

Shawn

papasmurf 02-12-2003 11:07 PM

i thought they were recessed, sorry everyone for the confusion. i wanted to get the fender flares ( unless i find better ) to fit larger wheels, the side marker doesnt look so great if its not recessed ( other have stated before )
