Do you mean the lighting for the gauge cluster? If so are the tail lights working?

Tap on the switch with your finger, mine does that now and then too. Tap on the side, where you adjust the brightness.

When that happens be sure to check if the tail lights are out. When one goes out the other usually goes out as well.

Actually mine will first be reeeeeeally dim, then I tap them and get them on, sometimes when I tap they go off.

Replace your switch. Mine did that as well before I changed out the switch from a working on that I found in a junkyard.

Sometimes it's the harness. I had one with a messed up contact 4 years ago, and I fixed it, but this summer it finally got too far gone and I had to replace the harness. I actually just found a matching plug and soldered it onto the old harness. Works like a charm. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Has anyone tried the replace the faulty relay that causes this?

No, but that's a good idea. Used switches can sometimes be found pretty ceaply. So most people just swap parts instead of fixing them.
