Is it better to have a body kit painted then mounted? or mounted and painted on the car?

i would think it would be best to prime and put the first coat on off the car, and paint the rest with the car, but i'm hardly the expert on body work

Depends what kind of kit.. If it is a kit from a quality company it should fit without the need for modifications.. so you can just paint and then mount it.. But if not it should be test fitted then painted.. or just paint the whole damn car..

yeah I just dont want to drive around primered https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

yeah just test fit it then take it off again and have it painted, I know it is more work.. But you can avoid driving around primered..

thats the best way i think. test fit, primer, paint one coat, attach, paint final

Depending on the color of the car when you paint one part and bolt it up against a original part the difference in color shows.
The best way would be to mount it, then to take it off and have it painted when you know there will be no problems. Im sure the body shop will know that they should paint the parts in the same position that they sit on the car. |
