yeah it was hard, broke some kind of cheap ass pliers but it was well worth it.

You can get Zero Gauge wire from homedepot stranded too. It't not tha tbad to work with.



Other place that comes to mind is mcmaster.com (mcmaster-carr)

do you actually need 2 gauge wire? (nutty stereo or something?) if it's gonig to be a long length you may not want to do it unless required, it's alot of copper (heavy). Just something to consider.

Well, I'm relocating the battery. I guess it doesn't need to be 2 Gauge... I figured there isn't much addition to weight since I dropped so much weight... Adding a few lbs of cable shouldn't hurt. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif



What size you think will be sufficient?

when I redid my battery I looked at the stock gauge, and duplicated that. So I went with the 4 and 8 (4 for starter, 8 for main fuse block), but I moved my battery right by the torque tunnel near the firewall, so the lengths were very short (shorter than stock).



If you are moving your battery to like a bin or behind the seat, you will probably be adding a junction in the engine bay and running the length with a thicker gauge to carry both loads in a single cable.



I've always thought in this case just run the length with the gauge of the starter wire, I'm not sure on the FD but this is 4 gauge on the FC. The reason I say this is because the large gauge is only needed for the starter, and when you are cranking the rest of the accessories in the car are off (all of the big power draws), so the two loads are somewhat mutually exclusive.

I bought like 6 feet of 2 gauge wire @ the stereo store when I initially wanted to relocate the battery, the bag weighed what felt like twice that of this bag I have full of random stuff I've removed from the car (brackets, bolts, computers, actuators...) so I decided to find a different solution, I would have been putting back all the weight in that bag I had removed and then some.
