yes!!! another topic about fender rolling

i was wondering instead of rolling the fenders, wont it make sense to just cut the lip off? would it take away some chasis rigidity? will it slice the wheel up if ever it rubs? i havent given cutting much thought, but it crossed my mind.

(rob your input will be greatly appreciated)

JT-Imports 02-02-2004 05:47 PM

front or rear?

You can cut them, but it leaves your tires being open to being CUT, unless you do a really good job.

FikseRxSeven 02-02-2004 05:54 PM

hmm i think if you cut the front... they will get deformed easily because of the thinner metal used.....

i was thinking more for the rear fenders... but i guess front ones get bothersome also, they get pulled down whenever the wheels rub

i think i should jsut get coilovers or something.. lol

turbovr6 02-02-2004 06:06 PM

you could cut the front, but it would be hard to get it right, cutting the back will lead to many problems, 1. like JT said you will kill the tires, 2 in the back it's 2 pieces of sheetmetal at the lip, if you cut it, and don't seal it, water will get inbetween and rust will set in!

FikseRxSeven 02-02-2004 06:38 PM

ok that idea was just killed by Jay https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

im thinking about the front though... maybe cutting the lip just enough to hold the fender lining, and enough so it doesnt get pulled down by the tires

Just get em rolled bum!

FikseRxSeven 02-02-2004 08:04 PM

baseball bat didnt work as well as i thought it would......

i have an idea.... rotorfest 4 can be a fender rolling day

Fd3BOOST 02-02-2004 08:06 PM

Here is what I did.

Get one bigass screwdriver. Wrap it ina shop rag,

Then pry the lip up and tuck it back against the fender itself.

As best as you can anyway. You only need to do the top crescent.

My paint didnt even chip.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

a pro with the right tools

just pay the money and get it done, you can try other methods

but if it fucks something up then what did you gain?

dont be a hack and cut the 1/4 panels or fenders.
