Im looking at upgrading my stereo system at some stage, just wondered if anyone had any info on sites or have pics of speakers in an FD? Looking at a custom set up, just wanting to look at what others have done.

Have searched with no luck yet.

Oh man, someone must know. It's been 2 days, don't let me ask over THERE! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/happy.png

You shouldn't have big speakers in a sportscar - tooo much weight https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png. Are you planning on using fibreglass?

Yeah I'm looking to see if it's feasible to go with custom set up in fronts. Not looking at a sub. I usually have stereo off when I'm driving. But when the girl comes along for a ride which is almost all the time I'm in it, she drives me crazy with the system turned up as loud as possible. So thinking about putting some decent sound in there so it's at least bearable.

I managed to bodge some 165mm speakers into the original mounts on a friends Opel Cavalier, and they take 110mm speakers as standard. The result was very neat if I may say so, and the sound is as good as anything I have heard in a car. I did a write up on it if you want to see it click my sig and it'll take you to my website, then it's "Sound system install" under "other projects".

You really oughtta just tear into it and see.. there's several speaker options depending on your FD's trim package, but door clearance is the bitch to get around. Jump on in and see where ya get!

If you do a write up, I'll fedex you a cookie.. and pin the writeup.

Thanks guys for the suggestions and the link. I'll see how I go with trying to get something in there that looks stock first. If I end up going all out with the custom pods I'll do a write up.

The link to my site? A few people have said that to me but I never had any problems. I put it down to the crappy free hosting, maybe if you try again later it'll work.

Tried again, still no luck. Getting to your site isn't a problem, only the sound system link. Comes back with a 404 error.
