you can also buy denatured alcohol in home depot, it serves a million purposes so its good stuff to have around.

j9fd3s 01-20-2003 06:30 PM

is there any way i could cheaply re paint my interior with out having to deal with cracking and all that stuff in the sun

j9fd3s 01-23-2003 11:41 AM

yah, get some vinyl spray, clean it like rob says and you're good to go. i did the door panels in my gsl-se 3 years ago and they havent deteriorated. cracking you need to replace

if you have every used armoral on the vinyl you need to get a good wax/silicon remover and wipe everything down. A body shop supply store will sell it. It's about 20 dollars a gallon.

Rob x-7 01-23-2003 03:43 PM

alcohol will clean off the silicones/armor all, of course there are products sold at body supply shops as well, but chances are everyone has some rubbing alcohol around the house right now. Plus its like .89 cent a bottle.

mkoch1 01-23-2003 03:53 PM

I would be concerned with alcohol eating the vinyl or the glue holding it on. I would just test it somewhere before you cover the door in it.

Rob x-7 01-23-2003 04:04 PM

its milder then Prep Sol, I have seen prep sol eat plexiglass and plastic on occasion.

I would hope they know to put the alcohol on a rag and clean with it and not pour it on the panel.

j9fd3s 01-23-2003 04:40 PM

i just painted my 83 on monday, and the rubbing alcohol is very mild, it feels like your about to go into surgery or something
