Does anyone out there know about converting from the factory Bose rear sub soundwave system to a standard sub-woofer? My Bose speaker is missing and the car needs some of that bass "oomph". I want to install a bass subbie but need to know where to hook on to the plug in the back (I presume it's the speaker one as it's just sitting there...)

Its my honest opinion that the BOSE system is absolutely horrible.
Trying to save any of it to use with seperate componets is conter productive and a waste of money. If you want a nice stereo you will have to scrap the entire BOSE system for nicer aftermarket pieces. I would reccomend Sony head units, Polk or JL Audio speakers and Planet Audio or JL Audio amplifiers. Thats what I stick too anyway. Good luck |
if you want something inexpensive, easy to install and portable (removable), look into an infinity basslink sub. They offer high level inputs, so all you have to run is a power wire and a short ground. You can T-Tap the bose signal wires for the high-level inputs. It weighs less than the Bose tube, provides more bass and sounds great. If you want glass-breaking bass, this unit isn't for you, though. It's about $350, but for that price you get an amp, speaker and enclosure, which is pretty inexpensive in comparison. Also, it'll fit in the trunk up against the strut tower brace, and allow the hatch to close with the rear decklid in place.

Thanks for the advice guys...yeah, I'm not too overjoyed with the Bose system either but I've been spending my money on other things like motor, turbo, aftermarket computer etc... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
