Guys, I'd like to get an insight of how everyone does bussines around here. I'd like to hear about an experiance where you asked a good buddy for a quote and the quote was for a good price, but you still went to someone else and the price was better. Did you take the first price from your friend or the price of the other person who gave you a better deal. I know we all have a prefered place to shop but I just refuse to pay more if I don't have to. I guess what I'm trying to say is this: I never mix bussines with friendship, so I'll always take the better deal over the one a friend or whomever gives me.

Tell me what you think.

I check around first, internet, anywhere I can, then I call my locals and

make sure I am infact getting the good deal. If the difference is small

and they are giving me the best deal they can I usually give the business

locally anyhow. I would rather go and get something in person and get the

product support I need then order **** thru the mail.

I'm a price *****. Yes, I admit it. I will search for hours to find the best price I can. eBay, local, online, I don't care where I purchase it from, provided I know exactly what I am looking for.

However, when I am not sure what it is that I need, I will go local and give the person that helped me the business. If they spent their time and effort helping me, I am not going to go elsewhere for a few dollars.

Keep in mind you have to factor in tax, shipping and handling, etc. Sometimes it's nice not having to wait for items to be shipped also.

Thats a toughie.. I will shift between all four of those.. it all depends.. I buy lots of stuff from this guy in Inglewood cuz he hooks it up.. for the most part he gets me good prices, but sometimes he can't and I still get it from him cuz he does good business.. But sometimes other types of stuff like audio stuff, I will usually look around.. no hurry especially since the audio stuff is not urgent like mechanical stuff..

Great, keep it up fellas.

it depends on what it is. if its a stock mazda part, then i go to one guy.

if its something else, i'll do a little shopping to see exactly what a good deal is, and then i'll buy where i feel most comfortable, i dont mind spending a little more as long as i can get it

im usually in a tight budget so i usually just try to find the best price out there..... of course there are other things that come into factor, such as if rx7 store have the best price, then i just go for the second best price, and actually recieve the item within a week

Seppuku 03-30-2003 11:38 PM

I look at best prices usually but i also look at the store. If its one i dont know about id rather spend a little more and get it through some one i know is good. Actually one of my next few purchases will have a 200 dollar differance becuase i want to go through someone i trust to me its worth it knowing im getting excactly what i want. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

It depends of price and also on the merchant. If the merchant is good to me like shipping my item on time and take care of my order right away i would buy again for him even if he is a tad higher than someone else. IF there is a problem in the order or anything he would call me. Also having items in stock help. Usual people that never give me problem is like rx7.com, usually a little higher but great service, rx-7store.net sucks ass, cheap prices but horrible service.

I go with service first and then price if i had to put it that way.

i usually go with service over price. what is the point of saving $20 and not getting the product ever.
