the taillight stops working and the bulb is fine, but the taillight is bad https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

jwteknix 04-23-2008 07:03 PM

whats the light internally grounded?

j9fd3s 04-23-2008 10:18 PM

no they use a stapmed peice of **** metal to power/ground all the bulbs, and that goes bad.

1Revvin7 04-24-2008 12:14 AM

or you need new exhaust valves and they are $1500 JUST FOR THE VALVES. Never own another bmw in my life. Thats a 4 cycle btw..

j9fd3s 04-24-2008 12:17 PM

yeah i just have an e30, and it needs a head job, because they all do. you need to reweld the head, because its made of grey cheese, and cracks, i need new rocker arms @$30 each because they are a crappy design and cast poorly, the new ones are made badly, but reinforced. the valves are prolly shot, cams wear out in german cars too...

and then its STILL slow

Rob x-7 04-24-2008 05:25 PM

YOU LEASE BMWs!!!

YOU DONT BUY THEM!

teknics 04-24-2008 05:28 PM

i wouldnt even lease them, hell i dunno if id ever even rent one.

kevin.

Rob x-7 04-24-2008 05:30 PM

**** as long as they give me a rental car I could give a **** if the motor falls out in the middle of the road.

They even give free maintance now on new ones.

yeah the maintenance is built into the price of the car. how else do you explain a $20000 car for $40000. Hey but it comes with lifetime free car washes!

But...but...but.... Every car magazine in the world is always shouting about how good BMW's are. They are the car that every other car should try to be. The 3-series is the "perfect automobile". Flawless in every way. The standard to which all other cars are measured. Are they wrong?

$20k car for $40k

please you sound like a KIA commercial

j9fd3s 04-25-2008 10:33 AM

the hyundais are like that, its a 10year warranty, but they built the price of the warranty into the car....

Cheers! 04-25-2008 06:57 PM

I could not agree more.

Same goes for Jags, Mercs, Audis

Audis are just as bad as BMWs. Talk about faulty sensor nightmare. A co-worker handed me his 2002 Audi A4 to fix. He was sick of the 110 dollar and hour he was getting hosed with at the stealership. I think every single sensor from the rear fog light to low pad warning was tripped.

haha, they hand them back after a week!

I'd still want an M5 if I won the lottery though.

defprun 04-26-2008 08:17 PM

My buddy BORROWED one for his wedding so the party would all show up in a black bimmer looking all spiffy and such....the brand new BMW 3-series OVERHEATS on the way to the wedding...

So we all pull up in a sweet car spitting coolant everywhere...

its a 2 owner garage kept car, with under 40,000 miles on it. bmw has spent over $16,000 in warranty repairs, power steering leaks, coolant leaks, clutch transmission, nav system failed, rear package tray fell apart, vanos broke, etc etc

and after all that it STILL rattles so much you cant hear how loud the a/c compressor is (sounds like a bad axle bearing) and its got a bad clunk from the rear end/diff area.

is it fast? yes.

does it look cool? yes.

would kia be ashamed to sell something that poorly built? yes

j9fd3s 04-28-2008 03:41 PM

oh an when the E46 taillights dont work, the bulb is bad, AND the connector MELTS.

funny how they couldnt build a taillight to handle the current, its not that hard to figure out
