At midnight gas prices were "supposed" to go up here 13 cents a litre...i havent checked outside but last night it was still the same.. I'm sure as soon as they "run out of the old gas" theyll buy the new stuff at the "new price".

You got the largest oil port in the US getting slammed by a hurricane, one tanker full of crude left to Davy Jones, a collapsing dollar 80 to 79 on the usdx and way more to go. Expect fuel prices to go UP for a couple weeks, then DOWN and then WAY WAY WAY UP. As the US dollar collapses you can expect commodities to go through the roof. If you are having trouble spreading your paycheck out now, let me know how yer doin in 6 months....

Enjoy it while it lasts, the US dollar is a piece of crap at this point and the cost of commodities is going to rocket, oil especially.

phinsup 09-22-2008 02:00 PM

Crude Oil 123.70 +19.15

I TOLD YA

1988RedT2 09-22-2008 03:20 PM

I pulled a camper behind the duallie to a state park about an hour and a half west of town and spent the weekend camping with the wife and kids. First time with the kids. It went well, all things considered.

I think I got almost 10 mpg, which is what the truck gets if it isn't pulling. It doesn't care!

defprun 09-23-2008 11:21 AM

Gas prices here havent changed in 3 days, im skurred...but we're already paying the shitty price already it just feels cheaper, lol.

1988RedT2 09-23-2008 12:04 PM

I was beginning to like the downward movement and $3.39/gallon. Then Ike hits Texas, and here we are.

On a somewhat related note, GM's hybrid models are selling like ****.. That is, they ain't selling.

Toyota's Prius continues to dominate among the green buyers. The thinking goes, if you're going to buy a hybrid, you want it to look like a hybrid. You don't want to pay $10k more for a hybrid drivetrain in a plain old Chevy.

phinsup 09-23-2008 09:57 PM

Actually I think you'll prolly discover the oil price is more tied to the dollar index as of late, which had been going down, today it went up, oil prices went down. Not to mentions the futures contracts were all being closed out last week, which tends to drive the prices up.

the hurricanes affected my job too.. work has been slow due to that..

the prius thing is a little different, its more about looking green. its like birkenstocks and tie die on a grateful dead fan, or the rolex/aston martin on james bond...

1979rx7 09-24-2008 07:35 PM
