**** an STi. too much $ for the end result. a ws6 will stroll on one from the factory, cheaper to modify, AND can handle. how many subaru's do you see in major racing? none, really. there are t/a's tearing up the trans-am cirucit all day long. do not make an uneducated assumption. if it is fast and a straightline or raw torque and some twisties that you want, teh ws6 will be a better canidate.

for roughly 1200.00 you can have a VERY reliable and streetable ws6 that EASILY runs 11 second 1/4 mile times......

Well, it depends on what kind of racing. In World Rally racing, you see Subaru very well-represented. How many Screaming Chickens do you see participating in the best racing in the world? None. Those damn red-necks need to stay on flat, boring asphalt and, OOoo, make an occasional turn...BFD. The World Rally Championship kicks the **** out of Trans Am Circuit racing on every level and the car to beat in WRC is the Subaru.

Follow your own advice and "do not make an uneducated assumption".

the sti isnt a drag car. to get the times that the magazines get out of it you need super high rpm launches. now how long do you expect things to last with high rpm laucnhes like that???

I'd vote for the STi, I mean come on, what's cooler than driving sideways? and who does it better than Subaru? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

I'd take the STI because I live in Minnesota. AWD would be a lot more fun in the snow than RWD.
