Before the accident, as you can see, even then I was into the all black look. I didnt even get to finish taking off the gold stripes
|
wow it looks like something chewed on the front

I tried changing lanes but was a bit late, at least I didnt hit him head on. The car drove away amazingly. I was going to pick a race on the way home but the car looked like ******* junk at that point. That was back in 1989 mind you.

mike I ended up taking the drivetrain out and putting it in a Cutlass that my friend was going to junk becuase he had blown the 6cyl engine in it. I drove the Cutlass for year or so with that engine, then I took it out, rebuilt it and put it in a 1980 Z-28 that I bought with no engine in it, and a new 454 went in the Cutlass. |

Almost right except it had a back seat, wasnt a 2 seater.
Engine was a 350, over .30, 11:1 compression, 64cc heads 2.02/1.60 valves, .580/.600 lift Crane cam, Edelbrock performer manifold ( all I could get to fit under the hood ) with a 750 Holley double pumper, HEI ignition with MSD 6, Edelbrock headers with 3" Gale Banks exaust. Car still had 2.73s or something like that in the rear, the top end was incredible, I was messing with a vette on the highway a few weeks after the car was done, my throttle stuck open, thanks to that small ******* air cleaner, when I was in front of him, I had no choice but to shut the car down. I pulled over, and so did he, he told me he was doing 145 and he was maxed out. I had no idea being as my car speedo only went to 85, and that was with a Turbo 350 tranny which was only a 3 speed. |
damn going 145, u have to be ******* insane

Originally I bought a 1985 RX-7 GS solely for the purpse of having a car I would have ZERO desire to mess with and it served me well for like 3 years. I didnt put a dime into the car except normal wear and tear when I felt like it, never broke down, and I sold it for $300 more then I bought it for, lol. Didnt paint it or nothing. I had my 1981 Z-28 at the time, very very nice car, I have pics of it, and had just gotten rid of my 1983 Z-28 and my 1978 Trans Am. I had WAY too many cars, the results of making a good living and having my own shop to park them, living on my own with no one to bitch to me about having too many cars. But after my Cutlass with the big block got stollen, I lost ALL desire for cars and my sole car was the 1985 RX-7, and I had my Kawasaki ZX-11 as well. The kid who had my vert at the time, who had got it from his mom when she passed away, ended up going into re-hab, I did work for his uncle who had his shop across the street from mine and he offered me the car, so thats how I ended up with the vert. Renting apartments for almost 13 years has gotten old to me, its time for me to buy a house, but dont worry one day Ill build something VERY nice again. A little bit of history for you guys, so yeah I been there, done that, seen too many people say "im going to build this, and Im going to build that", and they never do. I never thought I would see the day where I would be sitting on such a large amount of cash and have the restraint not to blow it on stupid ****, lol. Why did I write all this crap anyhow? |
