As if being sick and the power being out for 2 days wasn't enough. My buddy got in a motorcycle accident (very close friend) and was badly injured... my dad was hit by some bitch not paying attention at a light, totalled his company car, spun him around in the intersection and now he can't move off the couch he is in so much pain and to top it off he has surgury scheduled for Tuesday.
|
God damnit, and I just found out that what I had plnned for Japan, isn't gonna work out. I ain't goin' anywhere.

Is your dad hurt or just sore from being tossed around?? |
He broke his shoulder in 3 places, this is his second bike accident. We both love the sport, which makes it hard to give up, but he's done.
|
My Dad doesn't know, he was fine yesterday afternoon, when evening rolled around he could hardly move. I am taking him to the DR tomorrow or Monday if things don't improve.

Phins, people get kicked while they're down, but you'll get through this man.
Hell, I got my first speeding ticket last night for doing 80 in a 55...in GA I can lose my license for 6 months now (it was >21MPH over) unless the officer lowers the speed. He said he would "consider" lowering it if I took a DD course. Yay us! I know my standing isn't nearly as bad as yours, but I thought I would mention it. **** happens and it *******s sucks, but what are you going to do? Move on. |
sorry man...thing will improve be you know it

Once the adelaline fades,.. this is common. He probably has sustained some whiplash to his back. Has he been x-rayed yet? Do you believe in Chiropracters? I would head to one then get a massage from a LMT.
The chiropractor made his back feel good for like 2 hours, but after that he was in more pain then when he started.. |
Scott, best of luck for your dad's surgury on tuesday and hang in there, things will get better.
Luis |
yeah best wishes to your dad...
|
Yeah for real, I know how painful and miserable (well not personally, but taking care of my dad after the operations was pretty tough)
You will get through it. |
**** that sucks cow balls. There have been more and more bike accidents lately down here locally too, some are dumb squids, but many more are just ******* drivers in cages, really sucks. Wish your friend the best.
Sucks about your father, also wish him the best in surgery and all. |
I want to start my own community in which poor drivers are screened out, women have to pass a driving test every 6 months, speed limits are negotiable and 'visual inspections' pertain to running gear (brakes, tires, suspension) and not pollution control. A place where every street has an overpass cloverleaf turn, no stoplights, only golights. Oh, and the communtiy dues fund a community road course and motocross arena. Women would be allowed topless, and even given incentives to do so.
|
Damn phins... Hope everything turns out ok!

Damn, that sucks. I just got back from the hospital where my dad was admitted for a heart attack. He has to have a catherization in the morning
John :( |
im sorry man things will turn around two of my friends just got in a car accident an one of them has a collapsed lung the oher has brain damage and a fractured neck.
|
I don't believe in chiropracters. You go to them once and you have to keep going to them to feel good. It's a temporary fix and in a way like nicotine once it gets into your system its there. Besides they are really just massages on steriods.
|
sucks dude

I once went down at about 55 mph and got clocked in the head and sholder by the bike as it slid past me. broke my index finger in two places with both bones protruding out of the glove. I was about fucked for two months after and my finger still hurts to this day (over 16 years ago). After that I lost much of my interest in bikes even though I continued to drive them for about 6 more years. I just never felt like I was having as much fun as I'd used to have because all that fear of the pain I went threw was sitting in the back of my head. Good luck to your pops... |
hey phins this is the type of **** that makes the good things in life that much more sweeter,,, ya know? just try to take the stuff in stride...
|
Wow... I hope things start getting better soon... but yeah... if things didn't suck sometimes we wouldn't know what good was... not like that helps much
|
Heck I don't need great, or good, I would settle for a couple weeks of "ok".
But many thanks for all the words of encouragement. |

Just got back from the Quack-o-practor. Its helping where the heavy duty drugs from the orthopedic doc aren't. I hope between the Ortho guy, the Pain Nuerosurgeon (who is doing the injection in my spine wednesday) and the quack that I can start wrenching soon!

ouch, makes me glad nothing has happened
