Today i decided to buy an engine lift and stand so i can (finally) pull my motor.

I called around and pep boys had two in stock (350 each), and advanced auto rented them out. I decided just to go to look at the pep boys one for the hell of it, I'm not paying 450-500 bucks for a craftsman lift.

I get there, take a look at it, and it was pretty nice. I also got a 1000 pound engine stand.

well the grand total came out to be 199 bucks. Pep boys charged me 119 for the lift! And 80 for the stand.

So i saved 230 bucks!

I just put them both together and they are pretty quality.

Muhahahahahah!!!

FrestyleFC3S 01-07-2004 07:55 PM

um...youre happy about that?.... i got my 4 ton engine lift from harbor freight for 80...and my engine stand from them for 40...

Rob x-7 01-07-2004 07:57 PM

I somehow manage to accidently put my NGKs spark plugs in my

pocket everytime I go there and forget to pay for them

FrestyleFC3S 01-07-2004 07:58 PM

I have never heard of Harbor Freight being Ghetto especially over pep boys.

They might have some cheap stuff there but a lot of it os good quality and resonably priced.

So Fre, you got the lift for 80...how much was shipping?

I'm really suprised with the quality. It really isnt the typical cheepo pep boys crap you would normally think of...

Im happy with it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

As for harbor freight...A buddy of mine ordered some tools from them and they all broke when he used 'em...

FrestyleFC3S 01-07-2004 08:24 PM

well the thing with harbor freight and with pep boys is:

both stores dont only sell things they make.... like you didnt buy a "pep boys lift" so its not CRAP....my friend has it, the 4 ton red one right?....with the non retractable legs?

anyways...i just think my lift is better quality than that...and less money...

but then again, HF sells other company ****....i know my crane and stand are HF and kick ass...but a micrometer i bought stopped working, it wasnt made by HF

The craftsman alum. 5 pump is really nice too. Craftsman is so expensive, but it was super nice.

I could spend so much money just buying cool tools and ****...

Or you could just photocopy the receipts of all your tech friends who buy tools and you can all deduct it from your taxes.
