I'm at 107kbps for "The World", WTF I'm supposed to be getting an advertised speed of 1.5MB's per sec.

Oh yeah......I get that at 3:50 A.M. on sunday mornings. Haha...rarely do I see the advertised speed. Might have to do with your equipment. DSL was confusing for me. I dont know too much about computers which is why mine is always broken. When I opened the huge box they sent me and say all the crap I sent it straight bact to SBC. I got Earthlink cable and they came and set the whole thing up for me!!

Sweet, I got this from DSL REPORTS, the MOST TRUSTED speed test. LOL

Details

Your raw speed was 812618.46 bits per second which is the same as:

Communications

812.6 kilobits per second

How communication devices are rated. Kilo means 1,000 and mega means 1,000,000. Examples include 56k modem and 10Mbit Ethernet

Storage

99.2 kilobytes per second

The way data is measured on your hard drive and how file sharing and FTP programs measure transfer speeds. Kilo is 1,024 and mega is 1,048,576.

1MB file download

10.3 seconds

The time it would take you to download a 1 megabyte file at this speed.

Rating

Compared to all connection types worldwide, yours is fantastic

Comparisons

your speed

T1

56k modem

I get about 1500- 1600 kbps from DSL Reports That's pretty high since I never see anything like that when using Kazaa. Since the test servers are in California and I'm in Ontario that's also pretty high.
