Considering I'm on dial up and I'm getting less than 25 KILOBYTES per second, I'd say you're doing OK. Download 1 meg file in 5 minutes. I'm going to go cry now... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif |
Ohhhh I'm getting 83k today wow!
I'm on SUPPOSEDLY 128k ISDN but QUEST CAN'T FIGURE out how to make it go faster. Sucks huh? |
I hate to tell you guys but all those test sites are pointless.
It measures how fast you are from THAT site to YOUR computer on that exact time/date/whatever. I'll tell you what, I'll put up a "test site" page here on my LAN in my house... I'll get probably 75+ Megabit/second... Does that mean I have a 75 Mbs connection to anywhere else? Nope. A more valid way to test your connectivity would be to hit a test site on every major provider's backbone at the same time and average the results... UUNET, Sprint, Level3, Qwest, etc etc. This would really tell you if you've got a sweet setup. Brian |
yeah... i like being #1 on that though... for shits and giggles https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
