I'm ready to order my engine so I got a quote from RotaryWorks...
The compression was 8.8 front/8.7 rear and it has been recently rebuilt. What do you all take from that information and is this good compression? |
I believe its on a scale of 1 to 10 my old TII engine had 9's in the front and two 8's and a 7 in the rear. They considered the 7 bad news for high boost. The 8's were o.k.
|
I thought that was considered good, since the cosmo is turbocharged correct?
Was'nt it 1psi less on each rotor, compared to a n/a engine, where perfect would be 10's, and a turbo'd engine would be 9's for perfect? Correct me if wrong. |
So what's the verdict, yay or nay?
|
8.8 is good.

I'm assuming that's on a factory mazda tester if so that's great.... usually 7's are considered good, high 7's great, mid to upper 5's is borderline, usually will die with a/c on.
8's especially high 8's are great... of course assuming that's a factory mazda compression tester |
