I used to ride bikes all the time, everywhere. But I never had a dedicated road bike, only bmx and mountain, and now a lowrider. I want to start riding again, for exercise and enjoyment. So anyone have any experience with the current market in road bikes? I don't want to spend over $300, just because it's not worth it to me to have an all out race bike just to ride for furn.

I've been a fan of Specialized bikes for a while now, but I think their cheapest road bike is $400+.
Go check out Trek, Specialized, GT, and other name brands with entry level bikes and see which one feels best. |
$400 isn't sounding too bad, now that I've done a little internet shopping. Holy ****, I remember when a bike for $200 seemed like a lot to me. Now it's easy to spend $2,000! I think I'll go do some test drives, and I might find a nice used one. The things last forever, and are easy to bring back from the dead!

i would definetly go with trek or cannondale. ferrari has a road bike its full carbon fiber and it can be yours for a mere $7000+. lance rides a trek and i do to, its really light i am very happy with it.

I'd like to get an Autobike and put an engine on it. Having the clicker up in the pedals is a good feature for this.

Thanks for the tips, it seems to be a good choice from what you guys say. |
