OK I hear about people taking their rpms to 9000 but is that with different turbo set ups?I have a stock turbo on my 88 t2 and I shift at 6500 is that a good time to shift because im pretty sure turbo stops after that.
|
Go look for a dyno sheet from a stock series 4 turbo and see where the HP begins to fall off. That would be a good shift point.
I would say 6500 is a really good point. 9K RPM is redline not necessarily the best place to rev up to. |
yeah on a stock turbo theres no point going over 6500

i think its 6 not sure
|
my 12a is like that, i think it peaks about 6500, but power doesnt fall off until about 7500.....
keep it under 7500 and it will be much happier, 3mm seals dont like to be revved as much as the 2mms |
ahh and sometimes my secondaries dont seem to come in i think its vacume or something, i dont know
|
the first time i rev pass'd redline was when i raced my friends e36 m3 he would just beat me down the strip when i shift at 7k when i went passed and shift at 8k i would take him. But then im not usen stock s4 turbo either, https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
