TYSON 09-18-2003 06:39 PM

FLAT BLACK!!

If I wasn't so damn lazy I'd do mine. Even with the engine out there'll be too much stuff in the way.

flat black = teh impossible to clean.

flat paint has a rough texture that captures dirt and road grime, and you cant get it out. Wax the living **** out of the bay after you paint it and it'll resist dirt cling

no dirt cling = teh bling bling

Good question.

Could be because it's such a shitty paint that after a few years it LOOKS vintage!!! LOL

Apex13B 09-18-2003 07:11 PM

like yachting red...it turns pink in a few years

vintage red is the color red of many vintage british sportycars

teknics 09-18-2003 11:04 PM

rhino line it, when you need to wash it you give it a little hose down and it's all clean again.

do people actually do that? If so, wouldn't it be very difficult to use any of the bolt holes? Or am I just internet gullible?

JaySpec7 09-19-2003 10:41 AM

I'd either do gloss black or Vintage Red...

Gloss black will enhance the polished parts... VR will make the engine bay look new....

UniqueTII 09-19-2003 10:46 AM

I think you should put an engine in it.

I'll probably paint mine gloss black in my next car.

epion2985 09-19-2003 01:58 PM

powder coat it vintage red, that will really enhence the looks of the engine, especialy if you have cromed/painted/powdercoated parts of it

my jeep wasn't rhinolined but it was done using a similar method (instead of being applied cold like rhinolining it was sprayed on hot, forget the company name). I'm talking everywhere, the body tub, the fender wells, but i didnt do the engine compartment because i had just put the engine back in when i fund out about the stuff and didnt feel the need to rip t back out.

rhino-lining is great nothing really sticks to it that ive noticed, you might get cutup with rhinolining as it is pretty rough the hot-applied stuff is better if only i could remember the damn name.

I was thinking of undercoating my next car with RL. Think it'd work?
