For those that don't know my car was K.I.A. and now I need a new rotary for the stable. So if you had 4500$ what would you do?

rowtareh 05-05-2005 06:34 PM

TII. Gotta love boost. You could go GSL-SE and boost later on in the cars life, but it seems to be more trouble than it is worth.

drftk1d 05-05-2005 07:34 PM

get a fd and get all the men.

Directfreak 05-05-2005 07:37 PM

TII

7lufnis 05-05-2005 08:52 PM

get a t2 and drop a v8 into it.

whats funny is I've seen a few v8's that look like you could park a turbo II in it... 8 of em at that...

My votes for a 89-91 turbo II...

BTW-that is not me, that is dramon.

nopistons94 05-05-2005 11:33 PM

turbo gsl-se should be a option ...

Shane.Trammell 05-06-2005 11:23 AM

of course i say gslse, but it would be close if the tii was an s5. id still probably say a cheap gslse and mods bc its like an over sized go kart.

you could probably build something like this for pretty close to 4500 total: http://max7.rx-7.org/thecar.htm

just try to find a running gslse for 1k -1.5k and youll be ready to go.

Dysfnctnl85 05-06-2005 03:47 PM

TurboFBs kick ass.

I would be able to tell you more but my Haltech is still in Australia https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png.

rowtareh 05-06-2005 10:29 PM

What's the difference if it was s4 or s5 TII. It is still a TII!! I know I know, lower compression rotors, more hp, "better" taillights. Who cares!

TII, s4 or s5.

Personally, i'd go for a gsl-se. I'm assuming this is a series3? with a 13b? sorry, limited knowledge of the american cars. But a 1st gen is the way to go. with a few suspension mods and dropping in an import motor from japan (oh, you guys might not be able to do that?) it goes like the clap.

yes, it is a series 3. and you can drop an engine from japan in there. couple of people on here have cosmo equipped fb's.

Thinking about it now, it's probably easier for you guys, because the steering column is on the other side along amoung other things...

Even more reason to go through with this, and buy a s3 as it's already got 13b engine mounts (i'm now assuming it's the same as the s4/5 engines)!! Even less work is required https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png FMIC with the top mount, run a little more boost and she'll be screaming. can't imagine that would cost any more than $US4500 and would only take a few weekends!

It all really depends on the persons skills and dedication. I myself am not so skilled, but I would enjoy the project I am sure. Not too sure about the engine mount points though. It would take me about 6 months if I worked on it everyday to complete. But I would never do it. I just want a TII. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

yes, for those of you that said gsl-se it would go turbo, I'm a huge FB guy as thats all I've ever had except for a s4 N/A automatic that I got rid of really quick LOL. I'm still undecided on how to go, but more than likely a T II. oh well I have a week to decide https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

well I got thinking today. I spent 6500 cdn on my car 4 years ago.

I have about 5000 to 6000 in mods on her. That is 12k. That 12k could've went towards teh downpayment of my apt i've been wanting that on the lake in downtown toronto.

I'm on crack.

I shuld get rid of the rx7, cut my losses, sell my subaru. Start saving like mad fro teh downpayment, pay off my student loans. And maybe lease a 06 miata one day.

rowtareh 05-11-2005 06:02 PM

I agree with you cheers, a project will come my way when I have bought a house. **** living with my 'rents still.
