you mean like "gunk - engine cleaner"? most of that stuff is like made to prevent electrical damage, just dont go under the hood with a pressure washer or with a hose with a high pressure attachment and you should be fine with the stuff.

is that (or is there) something that can be mixed with water, or put in a bucket? I bought an engine cleaner that hooks up to a compressor, but I don't think it sprays hard. It has a hose for picking up whatever liquid.

I have washed thousands of engines using engine

wash and pressure washers and never had a problem

Once in a while you would get a wet distributor cap, but nothing a

wiping with a rag wouldnt solve.

just wrap anything that you don't want to get wet like your air intake or where there is a large concentration of electrics. For me i put a plastic bag over the tec and one over the filter, spray the whole **** down with simple green and then blast it with a pressure washer.

I washed mine only once (FD) by using that engine degreeser or something. After washing it i got check engine light and it turned out to be EGR valve. Unfortunately because here in st.louis we have emissions and crap i had to replace it. 300 bucks later and the check engine went away. I'm never washing my engine again.

Cheers! 07-09-2003 11:21 PM

that engine degresser stuff doesn't really work... i've been through 12 bottles of that stuff and the engine bay isn't getting any cleaner.

The first bottle did themost... after that i just washed money down my drive way.

just cover the alt and your cone filter with plastic bags before hosing it down.

I use Auto Magic engine degreaser, dont know what kind you people

are using.

If you used Auto Magic engine degreaser your **** would be clean

and you would be singing the praises like I have.

Been using it over 10 years now.

I used to have the problem with my B2600i.. after washing the engine the rotor and cap would get wet.. So just took it off and wiped dry.. and that was it.. On the vert I just spay with Simple green, let sit for a moment, then hose off.. No problem..
