I think they should have them, 50cal...

Striker 03-01-2003 11:41 AM

seriously though, they shouldn't. accidents happen. you can't afford to shoot anything in the cockpit or possibly put one through the body itself. and guns are a bad thing in unexperienced hands. it would cost millions to train pilots to shoot properly and use them safely.

If they'd just stop putting ******* dead beats at the security checks... There would be no need for guns. But we know that'll never happen...

Oh, when I first read the heading, I thought you all were talking about pilots in the air force..

yeah it's just not a good idea...I don't think there is anypoint now anyway. If someone causes a disruptance on a plane they'll get put in check just like that retard did

My uncle is a pilot. He is trained with a hand gun and owns a couple himself. Most pilots started off in the navy or airforce so I dont think training would be that big of an issue. However, my uncle is completly against it. He has had people start fights, get hostile and even die on his flight.(death was by a hearattack)

Guns wouldn't help their situation if someone else had one. Their cockpits are all bullet proof and their are other measures that have taken place to assure safety if a terrorist did try something.

teknics 03-01-2003 01:28 PM

i can picture it now:

copilot: "so your wife makes great breakfast in bed"

pilot: "WTF, I thought those were your boxers!"

copilot: "yea shes moving in next week"

pilot: "**********er, it's on now! *pulls gun, shoots CP then shoots self"

stewardess: "Ladies and gentleman our pilot has killed himself and the co-pilot, please fasten your safety belt and prepare to die **********ers! and thank you for flying jet blue https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png "

but anyway you can never make anything 100% safe and just giving some people guns isn't going to solve anything. People are so against guns and think they're dangerous but everyone's first solution is "hey give them a gun"... i hate ignorance.

Also in case anyone mentions anything I'm in the NRA, I own guns, I hunt, I feel bad for the idiots that give the NRA and guns a bad name.

kevin.
